The Solidarity Fund for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (FSSP) has received a total of 408,267,803 CFA francs in both cash and in-kind contributions, according to an official announcement made on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Niamey.
Mrs. Brah Reki Moussa Hassane Djermakoye, president of the FSSP management committee, confirmed the donation during a ceremony attended by representatives of various institutions and civil society groups.
One of the fund’s major contributors was the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and the Post (ARCEP), represented by Hamstou Dallo.
Presenting a substantial check, Dallo explained that the donation reflected the 10% monthly revenue levy imposed on ARCEP as mandated by a national ordinance.
“We salute all the authorities of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland for this initiative to set up this fund.
It is truly an instrument of internal mobilization as we see it now and which allows us to conquer sovereignty,” she said.
Dallo further emphasized the fund’s alignment with the vision of Niger’s head of state, His Excellency Abdourahamane Tiani, urging the population to remain steadfast in their support.
Additional donations came from a wide array of citizens and institutions. Abdoul Aziz Issaka Mossi contributed five professional training scholarships at the IFFTR valued at 5,250,000 CFA, along with a symbolic 5,000 CFA via Nita money transfer and 100,000 CFA from Hamdalaye village in the Baniibangou department.
Other contributors included Mrs. Habibatou Moussa Hassane, president of the Women Warriors, who donated 15,000 CFA; Weybor Wongaray with 10,000 CFA; and several others who gave 5,000 CFA each, including Hadizatou Douma of NGO Hope and Actions, Nafissa Moustafa from the Pan-Africanist Movement for Revolution and Work (MOPART), Foureratou Mahamadou of the AES Women Leaders Coordination, the Kay Ni Bonga group, and retired Diamballa resident Caparol Garba Mamane.
Established under Ordinance No. 23–13 on October 11, 2023, the FSSP is intended to mobilize financial support for the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland as it intensifies efforts to combat terrorism and protect Niger’s sovereignty.
